NOWEI is a grassroots organization dedicated to achieving equality for women and girls in Northern Kenya.

The organization works to empower women and girls to become agents of change by addressing barriers to education, health, and economic opportunities. By focusing on advocacy, mentorship, and community-driven initiatives, NOWEI envisions a future where women and girls enjoy equal access, opportunities, and influence in all aspects of life.

Our Programmes

Jasiri Leadership Programmes

This initiative focuses on equipping girls with essential leadership and life skills to empower them to navigate personal and societal challenges. Through workshops, mentorship, and critical thinking, and decision-making skills, to enable them to become leaders and change-makers in their communities.

Elimisha Scholarship Programmes

The Elimisha Programme is dedicated to ensuring that disadvantaged girls have access to quality education. By providing scholarships, learning materials, and support systems, we aim to remove the financial and social barriers that often hinder girls' education. This program not only facilitates academic success but also fosters hope for a brighter future for these girls and their families.

Wafugaji Programmes

Tailored for nomadic and pastoralist communities, the Wafugaji Programmes promote sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) through culturally sensitive education and advocacy. We work to raise awareness about SRHR, provide access to health services, and empower women and girls in these communities to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Chanua Wenzetu Mentorship Programmes

Chanua Wenzetu focuses on enhancing advocacy skills, self-confidence, and personal development among young women. This mentorship program connects participants with experienced mentors who guide and inspire them to become vocal advocates for change within their communities.
